MAN DIED IN HAIL OF BULLETS OUTSIDE HIS HOUSE
Nelspruit: 15 August 2023 – A 49-year-old victim was attacked and shot several times at his door steps in Collegeview, Bushbuckridge yesterday evening Monday 14 August 2023 at about 19:00.
According to information at police disposal, the victim just alighted from an unknown person’s NP 200 Nissan bakkie at his gate.
He allegedly entered his premises, but before he could enter the house, he was shot several times.
He sustained multiple gunshot wounds on both his legs and an open wound on his head.
He succumbed to his injuries as he was declared dead by medical practitioners on the scene.
Currently the motive behind the shooting is unknown to the police, but investigation is underway.
The victim was staying with his 14-year-old son who was not home during the incident.
Mpumalanga police therefore request anyone who might have information about the assailants to please contact the nearest police station or call the Crime Stop number on 08600 10111 alternatively police can be contacted via MYSAPSAPP. All received information will be treated with strict confidentiality.
The Provincial Commissioner of the SAPS in Mpumalanga, Lieutenant General Semakaleng Daphney Manamela has condemned the senseless killing and promised to work round the clock to get those behind the killing arrested.
